Assignments/ Homework Week of January 30th - February 3rd

Geography 8 (Period 4):

   Current Event-- Get an article excluding accidents, police blotter, and follow the instructions on the current events paper provided to you. ****DUE February 24th 2012
*Don't forget- Portfolio Assignments need to be completed and turned in at the end of each marking period. Do these assignments as soon as they are assigned so that you do not get behind!
Middle East Physical Map Quiz-Friday 2/3/12

Middle East Projects--students picked topics, they now need to create their booklet containing 5 subtopics from their chosen topic and write about each. They must also do a presentation on their topic. Date to be set in February 13th - 19th week. Continue on with your research and refer to the assignment/project instruction sheet to ensure you are on task. In addition, you may stay after school and work on the computers or get help from Mr. Wartman or myself, you just need to ask.

Project Requirements--   DUE WEEK OF FEBRUARY 13th - 21st

  Booklet needs to consist of the following----

p.1   Cover page- your name, date, period, title of project, and picture
p.2     topic #1 --must include 2 typed paragraphs (12 point font, single spaced) about your topic and also a picture
p.3      topic #2 --must include 2 typed paragraphs (12 point font, single spaced) about your topic and also a picture
p.4      topic #3 --must include 2 typed paragraphs (12 point font, single spaced) about your topic and also a picture
p.5     topic #4 --must include 2 typed paragraphs (12 point font, single spaced) about your topic and also a picture
p.6     topic #5 --must include 2 typed paragraphs (12 point font, single spaced) about your topic and also a picture
p. 7  Work Cited page---please include at least 3 sources that you used for your project, 1 must be a book
* the project must include not only research about your topic but also personal opinion on the topic..so a good idea is to make p. 6...topic #5 called "Personal Opinion"--then you would write 2 paragraphs about how feel about the topic, likes/dislikes, agree/disagree, etc. If you don't choose to make personal opinion a  topic then you will need to write throughout booklet a few sentences about how you feel on each subtopic.

Cultural Traits Project Due Dates--
Each group picked a country, your group must now draw maps, the flag, develop 1-2 page paper per topic on your country-(paper needs to be in bulleted format), powerpoint presentation with all topics, and create a cover page for your country's booklet. Refer to student's hand out regarding requirements of project.

Political and Physical map- due 2/3/12
